Company

Better bitter herbs and friends who can relate, than those who give you bounty and silently have hate. look not at shiny tables, consider not the plate, observe the host entreating you; know when to separate.

Flags

There is a theme borne by every man; a banner that waves showing how he will stand. Some banners bear signs of a lover or fighter, while others bear greatness and prestige to admire. Some men galavant with a banner of prowess and others wave only the flag of a coward. No herald is needed, no announcement required, the theme of a man shows like flags from a spire.

Bedroom

Sleepless nights, when dreams take flight, you ponder, wonder, seeking out insight. You dream and you scheme quite impossible things, picturing all of your secrets as if played on a screen. What silent surrender will be found tonight, laying covered in comforters devoid of the light, rest easy, dream sweetly, the mood is just right.

Refurbishing

Strengthen the pillars, reinforce the foundations, restore the gates, and rebuild the walls, for there is necessity of the house, pleas for its use, desire of its pavilions; need of its refuge, and cries for its sanctuary. Inform the builders, and those skilled in their trade; for the house needs be risen again. Yes the house shall stand again.

Underdog

The underdog is our hero for he rises from demise, the champion of the people for from their rank he did arise. Inspiring a passion in those above and those beneath, in some way they can relate to him and the struggles he'll defeat. He's the cheering from the grandstand, he's the hero of the heartland, the underdog, now sought abroad; but its your turn so get up now.

Reboot

Rebooting the system; please patiently wait, whatever malfunction, a reboot will set straight. The need to reboot will both vary and change, some are meant to install then re-tool and engage. Some are meant to correct   frozen programs corrupted, then restarted from scratch can make such things productive. First the power will cut, then the start-up will cycle, with the reboot complete a fresh life you can fire up.

Sheath

I am only a sheath, yet I'm fashioned for war, I'm designed to brave battle, and withstand every hoard. Think me menial, or nothing against a warlord; but housed within me is the steel of a sword. Tempered, polished, and sharpened for war; rests nestled beneath this sheath made for war.

The Christmas Poem

Yuletide, sleigh rides, and angels in the snow, the evidence that winter's here with Christmas too in tow. Ribbons, wrappings, wreaths, and nipping cold; stands seem to erect themselves with cocoa to be sold.
Reasons for the Season, and cards with Christmas greetings; nativities arranged, displayed, and left for all to see them. Television specials, trees aglow with presents nestled; nutcrackers standing idly by, as trains go round their tressel. This joy and jubilation, this festive celebration, is here in short summation, from one sweet proclamation." For unto us is born this day, in David's city, a swaddled  babe. Emmanuel shall be his name", three wise men came as angels praised, shepherds bowed and Mary gazed, and from that came our Christmas Day.

Authentication

Imitation, so they say, is the highest form of flattery; but your flattery is forgery, and only seems to batter me. Identity repossessed, is just identity grand theft, and your reproduction never meets the standard that I've set, So please be an original, a hallmark all your own; authenticate the mark you make, and replicate no more.

Realization

Epiphanies they happen with the speed and force of lightning, revealing truths once hidden, or truths your heart and mind were fighting. Re-calibrating past tense thoughts to present tense, whats actual. Disclosing to you information privily, what's factual. Breaching confidentiality, disposing of all fantasy; nurturing maturity by promotion of reality.

Streams

Bitter waters can be welled, drawn and served destroying health. Tainted, poisoned, poised for strife making bitter such sweet life. These tongues that carry burdened views; pay them no mind, give them no room. Reserve the right to just refuse the bearer of such broken news. Instead you see give vacancy to those who speak of hope and peace, of what can be and fulfilled dreams. For speech is nothing but a stream. Which water choose you filth or clean?

Thankfulness

Still walking, talking, and breathing in air, still seeing the the sun and the moon's gentle glare, still planning and thinking and moving about, still able to sing and to laugh and to shout. Quite able to love and quite able to care and well able to capture a moment that's shared. Still able to cherish and be cherished alike, still able to choose what I like and don't like. Still able to ponder and question and view every blessing i have and be thankful in lieu.

Consistency

Consistency is consistently a commodity in need, forged of a conscious character, a tenacity in deed. The thought to be beholden to an ever present creed of truth, responsibility, and honesty of speech. A man like this is needed and is always well received, yet present tense would have us think he is a dying breed.

The Cycle

There exists nothing new neath the rays of the sun, there's perdition, and hate, senseless violence and pain. It's a cycle recurring, its a system well run, and with each passing age man is seemingly undone. Yet forget not dear friend, though the cycle is run; life ardent with vigor will never succumb. It's zeal strong and vibrant, like the sun through the rain, is fueled with the passion of hope, love and faith. For love conquers all as the poets do say, and hope is the means by which miracles take place. Faith is the substance, and root of dear hope, making beautiful all things by which man can cope. Take courage dear friend in commanding each day with faith hope and love that the cycle might break.

Epiphany

When you realize what's before your eyes is soon to fade away and all the things you treasure most will ware, rust, and decay; the vision that you once beheld will quickly start to change and purpose will remediate the foolish goals you've made. Ignorance will topple neath the glare of truths bright light and apathy will crumble with a new vision in sight.

Truth

Candor and honor lay firm in our fathers, our mothers instructed their way. Once words were not pawns, but formed a mans bond and honesty life's only way. But at present transparency's vanished, and courage remains under fire, and every talebearer the eye can amass is branded a trusted advisor. With what do we parry this trend of phrases and words shaped and bent? The answer is truth clear of bribe or intent, given clear without need to repent. The answer is truth for our current, present, it's the answer we can't circumvent.

Inventory

Itemize, prioritize, assess assets and loss.
Evaluate what's valuable and what's not worth the cost.
Identify commodities and things you should not trade, but give away those things that wither, ebb away and fade.

Twelve Rounds

This is not unto death, nor unto my demise, it's not even a test, just a step toward the prize, a place in this life that's been meant to revive; to strengthen by breaking the problems around, for this is not a test, but the last of twelve rounds. This is not unto death, turn the doctors around, this is only a step, and I will not go down.

"Good For Morale"

Individuality, it's not good for morale they say. Just blend right in and don't offend, & mention no morality. Be correct politically, and do not judge so critically; extend not views or voice or else you'll see the penitentiary. Count not on civil liberties, nor courts or city halls, to recognize the person 'gainst the masses and their call. Instead stand indivisible, instead stand proud and strong; stand as has been in decades past, "One Nation Under God"...

Comprise

I want neither riches or glorious fame, nor hunger for power to brandish my name. I long not for placement by compliments paid, nor yearn for protection by knowledge attained. I seek not enhancement by plans well devised, or dream to excel through most cunning of lies. I do not crusade for a followings pride, or picket to rally a crowd to my side. What most I desire to fill up my life, is truth, love, and honor; with joy to comprise.

Son of God, Son of Man

Flesh and blood like you and me, a man came out of Galilee. He walked with men and talked alike, yet hidden 'neath this flesh walked Christ. Eternity in earthly form; disguised in skin was mocked and scorned. Omnipotent, omniscience was bound by hands for which he'd been sent. This king made captive by foolish men, was tried, and sentenced; marked for death. With visage marred beyond a man, Golgotha's hill embraced the Lamb. The hands that authored life and time, were pierced with nails and stretched out wide; And all creation groaned to see the Maker dead upon a tree. Life itself was tombed inside a borrowed grave, no light to shine; yet given only three days time, the stone was tossed onto its side. Emmanuel was glorified, he'd broken death and hell alike. All strength and power at his command, now glorified the Son of Man. The Son of God forever stands, as Jesus Christ the only Lamb.

Slander

Slander is the slaughter of a person, place, or thing, it's libel without printed ink that still seeks to demean. Yet slanderers are slaughtered, and their verbal libel sinks; they're challenged by a gold leafed news that's printed with red ink.

Web

Oh the ties that bind us, the webs birthed and conceived; formed not of men obscure to touch, but forged of family. A litany of legacy, a lineage of life; this web can hold much love and warmth, or bitterness and strife.

The Epilogue

The epilogue is just ahead, the end is close my soul can sense. Though signs laid out go unannounced, my inner being hears the shout, that time is winding to an end, and soon the epilogue begins. This climax in the plot is grand; and needs be told to every man, for those who can not see the end will miss the epilogue's begin.

Revolution

Revolutions are set on the axis of change, they start with a thought and evolve to persuade. They prism a single idea like light, refracting new hues giving passion to fight; to change and to dream, to address with insight, to right every wrong and affirm whats still right. Revolutions are times that have peppered mankind, unforgettable eras deeply etched in the mind. Oh tell me today where to look, that I'd find, revolution alive in a man's heart and mind.

Purpose

Discovering purpose is like acknowledging air, it is something so vital yet most live unaware. Both are invisible and both seem to share, that they both are neglected until neither is there.

Flint

Flint; my enemy, my side's very own thorn, you are dark and quite rough, and upon me you've worn; unappealing in sight and abrasive to touch, you're relentless and fierce, letting nothing obstruct. Through the hardest of blows and the press from your strike, I have tempered to steel though you press on with fight, and I've found that the flint I believed was my end, has transformed and become quite a meaningful friend. For steel can be pummeled by flint day and night, but the striking will cause a small brilliance of light. A spark that is forged by the clash of your might, is the fuel of a spark for a flame to ignite.

Words

Hand to pen, pen to pad, and ink to fill the space with black; what once was void is fully packed, with words aligned in rare syntax. Expressing thoughts on love and life, triumphant tales that bring delight. Words mass produced through printing press, are free to all both great and less. How revolutionary is written word, a spark alone can make man burn; subdued with thoughts and new ideas, imagining more than what he sees. All his ardor and zeal can be easily traced, to the lines of words on parchment placed.

Communicate

Speak peaceably, speak not with haste; communicate do not delay. Let every word left from your lips, inform, uplift, or well equip. With ease let all men understand the hearts small cry, at mouths command. Let tact and couth, your words make smooth; repaying neither eye, nor tooth. So let all men speak peaceably communicating every need.

Endure

To endure is to ensure that in the end you'll have the cure, for every woe and every care, and you can help another bear; their heavy loads and bring them ease through their deep uncharted seas. The course you plot was once your own, navigated all alone, but pain and sorrow, hurt and grief, could not deter your steady speed. Tenacity and all your might, made headway through the dreadful fight. Evading snares to just give in, you held to hope that you could win. Your grit and never failing drive, resounded somewhere deep inside, "You can make it if you try, don't give up, you'll be alright"! Now looking downward from the top you've made it but can never stop, enduring, fighting, pushing through, you've come to far to simply lose. So endure through every trial, and make an inch of every mile; help someone you know in need, endure also till they succeed.

Time

Time to go, time to stay, time to work, or time to play. There's either lots or not enough, it's scheduled or for it you're rushed. It can't go back, it cant rewind, it's of the essence, or on the line. Some times are right and some are not, time ticks and tocks and never stops. It must be spent, it can't be saved, though some invest it in great ways. It can be shared, or spent alone; it seems to fly, or drag so slow. It sometimes has you feeling pressed, or wishing it would never end. Sometimes it is lost, or even forgot, and in the most special moments, it comes to a stop. It is constant, a rythym, an unwavering flow; to be shaped, changed and formed from all it's been before. This gift measured out is so preciously sought, by men who've waxed old guard what time they've got. It has too been bestowed on the youngest of men, but is often forsook neath their unwrinkled skin. What a commodity, both endless and finite, by which man can recall every detail and highlight. So with each tick you've spent and each tock you've gotten, i ask what you'll do with the time you're allotted?

Purpose

Purpose is mine and I am in line, to walk at this time with purpose in mind. Purpose ahead and never behind, never once will I stop until purpose is mine. A purpose filled life is my right and my drive, I'll abandon it all for purpose, my prize. Neither money or fame or all man can attain, can replace the deep craze for the purpose I crave. I can not stand to just settle, and my zeal will not fade, for if purpose my fuel, I will go all the way.

Changes

In life you find that things do change from good to bad in uncertian waves, the faces that were once familiar change to some that are peculiar. Some in time you come to love, some you hate and some become, acquaintances or passers by, a melting pot in which you try to recognize the faces that enhance your life. Along with the company changes the scenery, from hot to cold and new to old, with experiences never had before, attatched to memories you make and keep, some you ignore, some make you weep. Times and seasons gone away, yet much is changing every day, from good to bad, from bad to worse, from down to up, and just to sum it up. When you think all's said and done, you come to find its just begun. All the changes you've come to and everything that you've been through, continue changing as choices new. Laid as roads for you to choose, to the left or right, where will you peruse? The sun does shine but dear do know, that the rain does follow and with a steady flow; But never tire of the drizzle, nor the streams or the floods or smallest dribbles, because as you and i both know, behind the clouds will breaks forth the sun! So climb in a boat or battle the current but never ever let youself be emersed in it, Swim to the bank and fight to the shore even if you feel like you have hit the ocean floor.

Music

Notes penned with ink on parchment bare, create a masterpiece; words knit beneath a writers hand, form thoughts unique and rare. Melodies and stanzas, harmonies and rests, are tools throught each measure used to bring the heart to rest. The sweetness of each tune thats played caressed within the ears, takes on a life all by itself; the heart and mind ensnared. Music is quite measureless, though measures it contains, but what itself can dare contain a single note thats played? Each note well ordered, fourth, and eighth, half, sixteenth, and whole, is said to be the closest thing to heaven man has known.

Faith, Hope, Love

Faith is a staple, you can't go without, it is partnered with hope and it goes against doubt. Faith is belief through the toughest of storms, that your sails will not tear though the wind howls and roars. Hope is the promise that tomorrow, brand new; will open new doors for your feet to walk through. Hope is the treasure well gaurded from life, it conquers the deepest and darkest of nights; and hope paired with love, there is no greater sight than when hope calls on love to heal and make right. Love is the strongest of all that's been shared, it covers and heals with sweet tender care. Love is the chiefest of both faith and hope, it endures and endures taking most of the load. There's no envy in love it is humble and meek, it is kind and it cares for most every need. Having faith, hope, and love in your lows and your highs will ensure that your life will be full of delight.

The Heart

What's in the heart, so complex and unknown, filled with feelings of love, and belief and all hope? Tell me what is the heart but a gift that you share, with those that you love and give all of your care? Yet how fragile the heart, to be damaged or bruised, it can even be tricked, broken up or confused. Oh how mighty the heart fueled by passion and zeal, goes beyond given limits and boundaries concealed. How pronounced be the heart; how so hid by one's will, oh the heart is much more than how simply we feel.

2010

It is typical to run to things that are new, to embrace them in awe with potential in view. It is easy to narrow your vision and sight, to the heralds of what is about to arrive; let not lessons learned through your trials and hell, become meager shaddows of what newness now hails. Remember each problem and quizzical thing, as tools to assist in the task newness brings. The promise of something so treasured and new can only be measured in the old you have viewed, so with time, and study, and toil you'll find that lessons from old make the new seem to shine. (Happy New Year)

Midnight

Midnight is the darkest time you sometimes find yourself in life, the stars seem dim and hope seems lost, you pray for help at any cost, but if you stop and simply pause, you'll find there really is no cause, to panic, fear, or find your flaws, or portray others as the cause; of where you are, though it seems far, lost, deep and dark; you find that midnight is the start. The place your mind, your will and heart, begin to strenghten though its hard, you cling to faith and to the word, and know that midnight soon will turn. The dark horizon soon will change, from black, to gray, to brilliant rays. The morning dew will greet your feet, now standing firm in God complete. The sun's sweet heat will brush your face, your heart will know God's saving grace, dispelling shadows roundabout, so don't let midnight hold you down. Hold to hope, and faith, and love, and trust in God who reigns above. Oh dear friend, please hold on tight, beyond your midnight is the light.

New Year's

New Years Eve is fast approaching and very soon some will be toasting, some may dance and some may twist, and some might share the years first kiss. Though celebration is in order we still must think of bringing order, to the lives we live each day, things personal and on display. If this year should come with resolutions, we must be firm and resolute in them. For if in the year of yesterday, we've not learned all it had to say, with it's advice, and notes to self, we'll find next year will not be well. So let us take a moments pause, remember loves, and loves we lost, remember what came with great cost; remember all your foes and friends, remember too all you now know, and take this next year by surprise with all you've learned, each day you rise.
